MAN, at the first congress. Ion Ceban, elected President

The National Alternative Movement met on December 21, during the formation’s first congress. The meeting was attended by 195 delegates from the approximately 2000 members who have joined MAN to date.
At the first congress, Ion Ceban was proposed for the position of president of the MAN Party, who was unanimously supported by the delegates.
“Thank you all for the trust! It is a responsibility towards my party colleagues, already, but also a responsibility towards the citizens and the country. As of today, we have clear commitments that are also described in the party program. The doctrine of the MAN Party is social-democratic of the European type, and we aim for Europe to be at home, for every citizen to feel the changes for the better. The basic principle that stood, stands and will stand at the establishment of the MAN Party is the interest of the state and the citizens in the first place”, stated the leader of MAN, Ion Ceban.
During the congress, the program and the statute of the formation were voted, and currently all the documents for the official registration of the party are being prepared. The 47 members of the National Council of MAN were also voted in, who will later meet to elect and vote for the party’s Bureau and vice-presidents.
According to the leader of MAN, Ion Ceban, the people who are in the party and will continue to join are specialists, who know their work and who can cope regardless of crises or risk situations.
“The team includes many colleagues with whom we work within Chisinau City Hall, colleagues with whom we started to make the change in Chisinau and we are sure that with the same forces, we can change things throughout the country, in every locality in the Republic of Moldova. We have demonstrated that we can develop Chisinau and I am sure that we will succeed at the country level as well, because we have reached an impasse if we leave the current ones in government. We don’t want stars, but we want people who know how to work and have demonstrated this”, added Ion Ceban.
The participants of the congress announced that the formation will become an attractive pole of development both in the country and abroad. Also, MAN is ready with all its forces to get involved in the next elections.
“I stated that MAN will participate in the local elections and will have the list of councilors in the CMC. In the presidential elections we will have a candidate and we will decide together with my colleagues who it will be, it will not necessarily be my candidacy. MAN will also participate in the parliamentary elections. We will gradually expand the party throughout the country. I firmly state that we are sure that MAN will be part of the next governments both locally and nationally. We still have many projects that we will definitely carry out in Chisinau and such projects can be carried out all over the country”, declared Ion Ceban during the first MAN congress.
