The President of MAN presents new evidence of how the CEC is preparing to defraud the results of the general local elections in the municipality of Chisinau

The leader of the National Alternative Movement, Ion Ceban, presented today new evidence that demonstrates how the CEC led by a PAS member is preparing to defraud the results of this fall’s local elections. As can be seen from the attached documents, voters disappeared on some lists from the localities of Chisinau, and in other localities they added several hundreds and thousands.

“One of the mechanisms used by the current government for this purpose will be the electoral lists, and the instruments through which they will implement this illegality are the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) and the Public Services Agency (ASP), led exclusively by PAS exponents.
According to Decision no. 1157 CEC, of August 4, 2023, which refers to the data presented by ASP, the number of inhabitants of Chisinau and the 18 suburbs that make up the municipality was drastically reduced compared to the data from the last general local election.
In Chisinau – from 779,339 it decreased to 665,668 or by 113,671 inhabitants, and in 17 out of 18 suburbs with almost 16 thousand fewer inhabitants,” says the message published by Ion Ceban.

The president of the MAN party draws attention to how in the city of Durlești the population was artificially increased from 19,382 to 22,194 inhabitants or by 2,812 people.

Based on these data, the CEC decided to reduce the number of local councilors in 6 of the 18 suburbs of the Chisinau municipality in:
⁃ Budesti from 15 to 13;
⁃ Cricova from 23 to 17;
⁃ Cruzesti from 11 to 9;
⁃ Ghidighici from 15 to 13;
⁃ Truseni from 23 to 17;
⁃ Vadul lui Voda from 15 to 13.

Ceban draws attention to the fact that the data on the number of population presented by ASP to the CEC are totally different from the data presented by the same institution, ASP, to the local public administrations of the first level.

“For example, if the ASP, with reference to the data from the State Population Register from 01.01.2023, presents to the CEC that there are 5,874 inhabitants in the Ciorescu commune, a suburb of the Chisinau municipality, at the request of Ciorescu City Hall, the ASP presents a number of 7 129 inhabitants, ATTENTION, also according to the situation as of 01.01.2023.
In the suburb of Vadul lui Vodă, on 01.01.2023, 5,380 inhabitants were registered, the CEC shows 4,590 citizens.
In Gratiesti, according to CEC data, on January 1, 2023, there would be 6,142 inhabitants, but the National Bureau of Statistics presents the local City Hall with the information that at the beginning of this year there are 6,793 inhabitants in the commune.
Another example is the city of Cricova, according to NBS data, on 01.01. 2023, there were more than 10,400 inhabitants in the suburb, while CEC and ASP indicate that the population of Cricova would be 7,995 at that time,” the statement of the leader of the National Alternative Movement also says.

Ion Ceban firmly declares that all this is done to defraud the election results, and the number of councilors is reduced where PAS knows, according to its polls, that it has no chance of being massively voted by the citizens. Moreover, the president of MAN announces that all competent bodies, diplomatic missions, international institutions and observers who will monitor the organization and conduct of the November election will be notified.
