One of the wishes of the National Alternative Movement, which is also found in the party’s program, is for European integration to become a national idea shared by the entire political elite of the Republic of Moldova.

“Our future option – dignified integration into the European community. We believe that the Republic of Moldova’s chance to realize its democratic agenda and to raise the quality of life standards are closely related to the consolidation of the common vision of all political forces and society, regarding the priority objective of the foreign policy, namely: dignified integration into the European community. MAN is aware that the European integration process requires a constant and consistent effort on the part of national political forces, and any hesitation or deviation will only make it more difficult and delay the achievement of the proposed objective”, said the MAN leader.

According to Ion Ceban, the political class from Chisinau currently lacks a national vision and the power to unite all political forces around the cause of integration into the European community. This integration must become a national idea, following the example of the Snagov Declaration, a document signed almost three decades ago by all political forces in Romania.

“MAN will make every effort so that, as soon as possible, the Republic of Moldova becomes a full member of the European Union. MAN believes that the European integration of the Republic of Moldova must become a national idea and proposes the signing of a pact similar to the one in Snagov”, declared Ion Ceban.

The Snagov Declaration was signed in June 1995 by all the 14 major parties that Romania had at that time. Through this document, the political class from Bucharest unanimously committed to support the European path of the country and to promote the objective of Romania becoming a member of the EU, which happened 12 years later.
